Scott Addington

A long time historian and medal collector, Scott Addington has always been fascinated by the individual stories that make up the wider picture of military history. This intrigue lead him to find out more about the men behind the medals.


Being able to connect people with their military ancestors and see how it touches families, has been the main motivation for growing his business and compiling data to author, ‘For Conspicuous Gallantry’ publications, which are the most complete reference to the winners of the Military Cross and Bars to date.

Q - What is the best business lesson you’ve learnt and how did you learn it?
A - Believe in your ideas and don’t be afraid of failure - I have been lucky to have bosses that have allowed me to express my creativity, and the results have been surprisingly good!


Q - What do you like to do in your spare time?
A - Writing my second book on WW1 Military Cross Winners (quick plug) and playing with my 2 babies


Q - Planes, trains and automobiles? Your favourite mode of transport and why?
A - 1988 Aston Martin V8 Vantage in British Racing Green...the most beautiful car in the world ever.
